What each platform is
Podium and NiceJob get cross-shopped constantly, but they sit in different weight classes. Podium is a sales-led communications suite — inbox, web chat, phones, payments — with reviews as one module, priced by custom quote. NiceJob is a self-serve reputation tool built for small service businesses, with published pricing from $75 per month, referrals, and social-proof widgets. This page lays out the real differences, when each is the right call, and the third option: ReviewNudger at a published $29 per month, if payment-triggered Google review requests are the job.
Podium
Podium is a customer-communications platform for local businesses: one shared inbox across text, web chat, and phones, plus text-to-pay, with review requests sent from that inbox. Podium requires a custom quote through sales. Confirm the term, fees, and included features before buying. Strongest for teams that want every conversation in one place.
NiceJob
NiceJob is reputation-marketing software for small service businesses: automated review requests with follow-ups, review monitoring, with AI replies on Pro, social-proof widgets, referral campaigns, and an optional website product. Pricing is published: the Starter plan is $75 per month and Pro is $125 per month, a 14-day free trial, and no contracts.

Which should you pick?
When Podium is the right call
Pick Podium if you are buying the suite on purpose: a team inbox across text and web chat, phones, and text-to-pay, with reviews as one part of a bigger communications operation. If you will genuinely work every conversation in that inbox, the platform earns its price in a way no reviews tool can match.
When NiceJob is the right call
Pick NiceJob if you want reputation marketing beyond the review ask: referral campaigns, photo-driven social-proof widgets, gifting, and an optional website product, all self-serve with published pricing. For a small business whose growth plan leans on referrals and social sharing, NiceJob packages that well.
The $29 third option: ReviewNudger
If the review ask itself is the job — every paying customer, asked automatically, right after payment — ReviewNudger does that for a published $29 per month per location, flat, with Google review sync, AI reply drafts, and review protection included. No customer-count tiers, no sales call. We make ReviewNudger, so weigh this paragraph accordingly; the table above stands on its own.

Where we stand on review gating
A note on review gating, because it matters when you compare tools: by default ReviewNudger sends every customer the same neutral request with the same public Google review link — no sentiment checks and no star-rating questions deciding who gets asked. There is one optional, clearly disclosed per-location mode that asks how the visit went first, and even in that mode the public Google review link stays available to every customer, including unhappy ones. Selectively suppressing negative reviews violates FTC rules and Google's review policies, so whichever platform you choose, make sure its defaults keep you on the right side of both.
Where we stand on review removal
A note on review removal, because it comes up in the same comparisons: ReviewNudger includes review protection, which can screen newly synced Google reviews for likely violations of Google's review content policy — spam or fake content, off-topic content, conflicts of interest, profanity, harassment, hate speech, exposed personal information — and flag what it finds with a plain-English explanation. It is advisory only and configurable per location: you decide which flags deserve action and report them through Google's own reporting tool. ReviewNudger never submits reports on your behalf, and whether a flagged review comes down is always Google's decision — so whichever platform you choose, treat guaranteed-removal promises with skepticism.

Frequently asked questions
Is NiceJob cheaper than Podium?
NiceJob publishes $75 per month for Starter and $125 for Pro; Podium requires a custom quote, so compare the written quote with the NiceJob plan you need. They are also different scopes — suite versus focused reputation tool — so match the product to the job before comparing prices.
Which sends review requests automatically?
All three can automate the ask; the trigger differs. Podium works from its inbox and automations, NiceJob enrolls customers into campaigns from connected apps and lists, and ReviewNudger triggers one neutral request from the completed payment in software you already run — no lists to maintain.
Do any of these tools filter out unhappy customers?
Filtering who gets asked based on predicted sentiment — review gating — violates the FTC's consumer-review rules and Google's policies, so it should be a disqualifier in any tool you evaluate. Whichever product you pick, configure it so every customer keeps a clear path to the public review page.
What if I outgrow a focused tool later?
Nothing locks you in: Google reviews live on your Google Business Profile, so a business can start with a focused request tool and move to a suite later (or the reverse) without losing review history. Month-to-month terms make that experiment cheap; term contracts make it expensive.
